On the night of 7 to 8 of December Advertising Best Collection Show was held in Rodina cinema. The performance was taken in honor of the Ya pokupayu magazine’s fourth birthday and gathered members of Barnaul advertising beau monde, businessmen congenial to them and just friends of the birthday magazine.

The sponsors of the performance were the Ovchinnykovsky  meat-processing plant and the specialty chain Vinoteka. And the Navi-gator agency brought the advertising best collection to Barnaul. “ The show is 2-hour set of the most amazing advertisements of recent years, which were selected from among the winners of leading advertising festivals of the World”- said Ivan Churilin, the head of the agency. The project has already been appreciated in several big cities such as St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok and others. Barnaul became the fifth city to take the show.

A kind of public function was held just before the show. The audience had time to try Vinoteka’s cocktails, be amused by the clowns’ inflammatory dances, take some photos and discuss the lattest news. Then Mr. Semenov- the master of ceremony- dropped the flag to the performance. After the short greetings of the officials— The development Altapress director Dmitry Shevkunov, the editor for the Ya pokupayu, Maya Zvyagintseva and the head for the Navi-gator Ivan Churilin— and congratulations on the magazine, VIP got to The Tochka where the banquet was given. Beau monde of the middle echelon was taken to the cinema halls.

Before the very ABC Show a new promo for the Ovchinnykovsky  meat-processing plant was shown and then came 30-minute show of erotic and humorous advertisements, which were given ovations from time to time. After this for sake of having rest, the audience was gathered in the lobby, where Mr. Semenov, clowns and the most active women of fashion were grooving and of course having some Vinoteka’s cocktails again. A bit later everybody could enjoy the products of  the Ovchinnikov meat-processing plant- the one of the promo. And went to the screens with renewed strength.

The second break was devoted the Eros shop prize drawing. A doll, called Marusya by Mr. Semenov, was announced to be a grand prize. Then the doll was gained by a bright blonde, who was actually a quite active participant of the show. In particular she could puzzle Andrew- the Hel Clown- a mime from Novosibirsk, when he suggested telling him words, which he would pantomime, by suggesting the phrase “agro industrial complex”. So the mime had to rack his brains. Fortunately with the help of decorations- false bust in a number of three which were hanging on the wall- he was able to realize the idea. But on our opinion the most successfully performed was the pantomime “Fly”. Two spectators imitated a fly, out of which came Andrey,  pose as everybody-knows-what.

At past one the Advertising feast was over. To recount it is not a rewarding work. As they say it’s better to see. And “It” was the masterpieces of the world advertising of BBDO Saatchi&Saatchi, Leo Burnett and other the greatest.

- Shows are often timed to coincide with some date—the company birthday, adman day and so on. And there are always entertainment programs, not only promos. And its eventfulness depends upon the partners in cities. As for Barnaul, I think the event was great in whole. Response of the natives although seemed calmer than that one of other cities , but still good. And it was the first performance, and may be next time audience will feel at ease. We will be glad to bring a new collection next year.

- Well done The Ya Pokupayu, Maya did well too, having undertaken all this. They attempted three times to bring show like that to Barnaul, and all failed because it is rather difficult and expensive. And it is very hard to cover the expenses. It was great of then to venture and bring it.  Organization was quite successful. It turned out to be a cozy party, where were a lot of acquaintances. And the organization itself was competent. That was not just performance, that was the event. And people, I believe, loved it. I enjoyed it!  It is very important that there were not only producers but also advertising client. I was sitting thinking: just look what can be an advertisement! May be something will shift in people’s minds and they will realize that you can not only show the product and claim that it is good and give a range of address information. It is possible even not to show the product but create an image! Such a collection is worth watching.
